The James Hart Steppers will be guest performers at "Stepper's Showdown" this Saturday, January 28th. The event features dozens of high school step teams performing for the showdown title.

Both the James Hart Maroon and the Gold pom teams earned first place finishes at their state competition, the Chicagoland Dance Championship. The competition, hosted by the Universal Dance Association, was this past Saturday, January 21st at the UIC Forum in Chicago.

“This is the culminating competition for our girls—our “state,” said Pom Teams sponsor Amanda Townsend. “However, it’s much bigger. Schools from as far away as Toronto compete. The fact that both of our teams are champions of their categories is a very big deal.”

The Maroon Team competed in the “pom” category and the Gold Team competed in the “hip hop” category.

“The girls worked so hard this year. They deserve to end their season on such a high note,” said Townsend.
